Another long drive awaited us as we left Niagara Falls. It's a good 4h30 to get to North Bay, that is, when there's no traffic in Toronto (which there was) and the weather's good (which it was not). We got caught in a huge rainstorm, but it finally ceased after an hour or so. We arrived safe and sound at our Airbnb around 10:30 p.m., where we kicked off our shoes, turned on the fireplace and took a well-deserved hot shower. I'm also including a picture of a pickup truck we saw with bear sculptures in the back, just because.
The next day was pretty chill. We woke up late, then went to get our laundry done (the owners of the laundromat were francophones, which was fun), and finally decided to go on a little hike not far from the city. Duchesnay Falls is really a cute little place to hike; not very long, but quite impressive. The only bad side was the half ton of insects flying around everywhere, but that's what you get for hiking near water in the spring!

We had a nice little surprise as we were heading to the beach for a little peak... we were in King's Landing! 👑 Game of Thrones fans, you know what I'm talking about. Joel had a hard time believing I hadn't brought him to North Bay just for that.
Also, as we were driving around towards the general direction of our Airbnb, we stumbled upon this house. Really, you can plan a trip all you like, but in our opinion, the most fun part of a trip is just exploring and finding stuff by chance.

We got yet another good night's sleep and were all fresh to drive to Sudbury, the Nickel Capital of the World. Stay tuned, folks! 💜
TL;DR: North Bay is a small but friendly little town along scenic highway 11, but apart from a nice hike and the King's Landing sign on the beach (Game of Thrones fans, rejoice!), it shouldn't be a destination in itself. On our itinerary, though, it was the perfect pit stop and people were lovely!
